Every year, thousands of fires occur in California. Marin County alone has over 400 firefighters working 365 days a year not to mention the paramedics, dispatchers, search and rescue and law enforcement who also answer the call to help and protect. Being on the frontlines is physically and mentally challenging, and these everyday heroes often feel under-supported, overwhelmed, and under-appreciated.
First Responder Therapy Dogs have been working in the field for nearly two years, calming and putting smiles on hundreds of first responders faces. Their duties have included: making scheduled visits to fire stations, attending debriefing/defusing sessions following difficult service calls, and visiting base camps at wildland fires.
First Responder Therapy Dogs is entirely dependent on your generosity to provide much needed emotional support to our courageous first responders. With your tax-deductible contribution, we will continue to be a powerful tool in helping first responders take to the frontline.
